The Newspaper Influencer Competition, Times NIE
In an effort to promote thoughtful expression in today’s social media age, The Times NIE organised the Intra-School Newspaper Influencer Competition at Samved School. The event was designed to empower young voices and emphasize the value of staying informed through regular newspaper reading.
Ten enthusiastic students from different grades captivated the audience with impactful speeches on the importance of newspapers. Adding to the excitement was a student voting system, giving the audience a chance to support the speaker who influenced them the most — making the event both interactive and inspiring.

Times NIE Contest: “In with the News, Out with the Noise”
An Inter-School Competition
In an era of information overload, The Times of India launched the “In with the News, Out with the Noise” contest to help students distinguish between meaningful news and digital noise. Open to students from Grades 9 to 12, the contest invited participants to create a 1–2 minute Vox Pop video showcasing their understanding of how noise impacts their lives.
Weekly Winners:
- Dita Narang – Grade 10 (Prize: Amazon e-certificate + ₹1000 e-voucher)
- Vignesh Gowda – Grade 9 (Prize: Amazon e-certificate + ₹1000 e-voucher)

Dita’s powerful video earned her the Samsung Galaxy Watch4 Classic, awarded by Times NIE during a special school assembly. Her entry was declared the best among nationwide submissions in this prestigious inter-school competition.
